Gynecomastia is classified into 4 grades by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons based on factors like size of breast enlargement and feminization of the breast. Grade 1 is considered mild and the highest grade of 4 is considered severe with noticeable feminization of the male chest. The table below shows each grade and its description.
